Thailand – Thai PM presided over the First Meeting of the new National Water Resources Board

July 22, 2015 General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of Thailand presided over the first Meeting of the new National Water Resources Board in Bangkok to lay plans for addressing drought problems and give guidance for the National Water Resource Board (NWRB).

Mr. Jatuporn Buruspat, as Board Member and Secretariat, reported to the Meeting that the Strategic Water Resources Management Plan 2015-2026 formulated by the Committee for Policy and Water Resources Management was handed over to the NWRB for further implementation as short, medium, and long term plans. NWRB, so far, had implemented 12 activities from Village Piped-Water, School/Community Piped-Water, water supply for irrigated and non-irrigated areas, increasing cultivated areas, and rehabilitation of forest areas for example.
